Practice Focus
Paul’s practice is focused on the individual. Whether a client is buying or re-financing a home, starting, buying, or selling a business, incorporating a company, buying a franchise, in need of assistance in enforcing or settling a debt, or putting his affairs in order by preparing a will and powers of attorney, Paul is dedicated to ensuring that his client receives his best advice, the most thorough documentation, and his personal attention throughout.
As evidence of competency in carrying out real estate transactions Paul has been approved by “Title Plus” Title Insurance Company to obtain “Title Plus” title insurance for all his clients’ real estate transactions. This coverage provides the security to Paul’s clients, both borrowers and lenders, that their interest in the property covered by the policy is protected against fraud, is insured against any claim or title defect that an up to date survey might reveal, and indemnifies them for damages suffered as a result of errors made in the reporting of off title matters.
Paul has acted for most major financial institutions (RBC, Scotiabank/BNS, TD Canada Trust, BMO, Resmor Trust, Exceed Mortgage Corp, Maple Trust, Home Trust, and Regency Trust) in mortgage transactions. Private mortgage lenders retain Paul to perform the requisite due diligence prior to advancing mortgage monies for both residential and commercial financings.
Paul is equipped by training and experience to advise his clients on all manner of business matters. While at Tim Horton’s he revised its franchise agreement to keep pace with then current law as well as the practicalities of the business. He has negotiated and drafted leases and various commercial documents for the major corporations for which he has worked. He has developed and implemented corporate expansion plans both in Canada and the United States. He has worked with municipal staff and members of council to gain approval for real estate development projects.
In summary, Paul is the first contact that you should make for any personal or business matter. He has access to legal specialists and related consultants to assist his clients should such specialist expertise be what is needed by the client. Paul’s focus is always on the client and the promotion and protection of the clients’ interests.
