Quite simply; the entire menu is a signature. The Wine Cellar is an attraction in itself and features floor to ceiling racks which showcase some 200 labels, may of them rare and collectible. Historical Background
The original establishment opened at this location in 1974. Ten years later, the Mollica Family purchased the operation and began the long, committed and dedicated mission that has positioned the restaurant today as one of Niagaras finest.
Recently, the facility was subjected to extensive renovations. This major undertaking has netted a remarkable renaissance, and brings with it an old, quieter elegance, combining with a lively, colourful setting a trattoria straight from the pages of Mediterranean history truly authentic.
Located on Niagaras famous Wine Route, the Casa Mia also fronts one of Niagaras oldest and most important roadways Portage Road. Very, Very long ago, the road was an Indian trail. The trail later became the route that was followed by explorers and traders as they portaged between the Niagara River above the falls at Chippawa and Queenston. Thus the name of the thoroughfare today.
Clearly, and beyond its unique ambiance; the essential resource at the establishment is in the kitchen where mother Luciana (Lucy) and son Claudio conjure up the culinary magic that has won a host of medal, innumerable accolades and an enviable degree of customer loyalty.
